NIGHT FURY RATCHET

System 4

HUNT

PRECISION

System weight: ±1.95kg

Built for:  Precision hunting, bipod shooting, bag-supported field positions, shooters wanting greater front-end stability without moving fully into a heavy long-range chassis

Still light enough for the veld. More stable on a bipod, bag or rest.

Ratchet is the first system in the Night Fury range that shifts clearly toward supported hunting use. It is built for shooters who want more front-end stability when shooting from a bipod, front rest, rear bag, or other deliberate field support. The Elite forend gives the rifle a broader, more stable front-end interface and a more planted feel under load, while still keeping the system practical enough to carry in the veld.

Includes: light buttstock, center/inlay, plastic grip, elite forend
Magazine: not included

Why Ratchet is built this way

Ratchet is built for hunters who shoot from support more often and want the rifle to behave better when rested. The Elite forend improves how the chassis interfaces with a bipod, front bag, or field rest, giving the system more stability at the front and better resistance to unwanted movement. It is designed for shooters who want greater control over the rifle in supported positions without stepping all the way into a heavier long-range or competition build.

What makes Ratchet - System 4 different

System 4 is the first point in the range where the chassis begins to prioritise supported shooting more clearly. Compared to Jazz, Ratchet replaces the target forend with the Elite forend, which gives the rifle a more substantial and stable front-end platform. That matters when the shooter is working from a bipod, bag, or rest and wants the rifle to settle more consistently before and after the shot. It remains field-capable, but it is no longer built primarily around speed and light carry. It is built around more controlled shooting from more stable positions.

Built for:

  • Hunters who shoot from bipods, bags, or front rests

  • Supported field shooting where front-end stability matters

  • Precision hunting where steadier rifle behaviour improves shot placement

  • Shooters who want a more engineered front-end setup without committing to a full long-range chassis

Not ideal for:

  • Shooters who want the lightest possible carry-first hunting setup

  • Fast-moving field use where minimum weight matters more than supported stability

  • Dedicated bench or competition builds needing more total system mass from the start

Why RATCHET System 4 is built this way

Light buttstock

Keeps the rear of the system lighter and easier to carry, so the rifle remains usable in hunting conditions even as the front end becomes more support-focused.

Elite forend

The Elite forend is the defining part of Ratchet. It gives the rifle a more stable and capable front-end interface for bipods, bags and rests, and creates a more planted shooting platform when precision matters in the field.

Center / Inlay

The structural heart of the chassis. This is the fixed backbone that supports the action and allows the rest of the platform to change without replacing the foundation.

Plastic grip

A practical grip choice that keeps the system direct and functional while the front-end geometry does the more technical work of improving supported control.

Modularity, explained

Ratchet shows how the same Night Fury backbone can be tuned toward a more support-driven role. Different buttstocks, forends, grips and balance options allow the rifle to move between lighter field use and more deliberate, stable shooting without starting over. The chassis remains the same. The way it behaves changes with the build.

Who Ratchet suits

Ratchet suits the hunter who shoots more often from a bipod, rear bag, or stable field support and wants the rifle to settle better in those positions. It is well suited to shooters who value a more technical front-end setup, better support interface, and more consistent behaviour from the rifle when precision matters.

Need help choosing?

If you are deciding between Jazz and Ratchet, the real question is how often you shoot from support. If your rifle spends more time on a bipod, bag or rest and you want greater front-end stability, Ratchet is the more deliberate choice. Send us your action and intended use, and we will point you toward the system that fits the role properly.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ratchet

What is Ratchet in the Night Fury range?

Ratchet is Night Fury System 4, a Precision Hunt chassis built for supported field shooting and greater front-end stability.

How much does Ratchet weigh?

Ratchet has a system weight of approximately 1.95kg.

What components are included in Mirage?

Ratchet includes a light buttstock, center inlay, plastic grip and elite forend.

How is Ratchet different from Jazz?

Ratchet uses the Elite forend instead of the target forend, giving the rifle a more stable front-end platform for bipods, bags and other supported shooting positions.

Can Ratchet be upgraded later?

Yes. Ratchet uses the Night Fury modular backbone, so the system can evolve through different buttstocks, forends, grips and balance options as needs change.

If you’re choosing between starting smoother or starting more support-driven, Ratchet is designed for shooters who want greater front-end stability now and more control from bipods, bags and rests as their shooting becomes more deliberate.
